Black Holes PREVIEW
5 April, 8:00pm, Bernie Grant Art Centre
A night of short performances inspired by Afrofuturism.
In the lead up to their show, Black Holes, artists Seke Chimutengwende and Alexandrina Hemsley curate a night of short, cosmic performances.
Seke and Alexandrina started working together in 2016 and exploring the potentials and problematics of Afrofuturism shape their collaboration.
Both share an interest in looping the personal and the mythic and together they situate their bodies inside shifting, imaginary and choreographic landscapes, searching for hopeful possibilities amidst the harshness of present dystopias.
